Here is Murphy getting some cuddles while we work! He is one spoiled little bunny. All the Leisure Specialists at Link love taking Murphy out of his cage and spend time socializing him. All this time spent with us will help with his future adoption! His forever home will have one wonderful little bunny!
Murphy was transported to us by the ARL the first week in October. All the participants were eagerly waiting for the bunny! Once Murphy was here the ARL gave a presentation on rabbit care. All the participants in the program “Critter Camp” came for this presentation. Every person got to go up and pet Murphy. Everyone also voted on names for Murphy as well! Some other name options were Peter, Cotton, Simba, Mark, Mufasa, and Easter.
Since Leisure is fostering a bunny it takes a lot of supplies. Leisure sent out a email asking for any donations that Link employees had to offer. We were surprised by how much people wanted to support our bunny. The employees in the Pre-vocational department donated food, bedding, and hay. Cages were donated as well as some other handy cleaning supplies. We still need some items for our bunny if you would like to contribute. I provided some lists below and if you can’t contribute financially we also could use some newspaper, toilet paper rolls, and paper towels rolls. I am also providing our amazon wish list for supplies for the bunny!

The Leisure staff took time to go to the ARL to learn about handling and care for a rabbit. Each staff had one on one time learning how to handle and care for a rabbit. Below are the pictures from the training.
In preparation of our new bunny we created and built a cage. This is the Leisure staff working hard getting everything ready for our bunny. We took a wire book shelf and reassembled it for a bunny habitat. We then took zip ties and made sure it was safe for the bunny. Below are all the pictures of us Leisure ladies putting it all together.
Murphy has arrived to the Leisure Department! Check out our Facebook page to see pictures and updates!
