Volunteer Opportunities
Do you know
how to have fun? If so, we need you!
People who can help
foster community connections for individuals who are
mentally challenged are in demand. We need dynamic
individuals to support others as they enjoy and access the
community at large. Do you like to hike, fish, shop, dance
or go to the movies? Do you have
special skills you would like to share? Do you like to cook,
craft, sing, paint, play music, dance, or exercise?
At Link
Associates, our mission, “Providing people with disabilities
opportunities to achieve their personal goals” is supported
d
by volunteers from our community. Socialization and being
part of the community is an important feeling for everyone.
Through your volunteerism
you can help the people we support take a more active role
in our community. The level of involvement is totally
up to you. The main requirement of a Link Associates
volunteer is to care about others and the desire to make a
difference in someone’s life.
Ask us
about:
Large group
projects. We can match area business and service
organizations based on the level of involvement they want to
have. Some examples that large groups have
participated in include:
Adopt-a-Home
Sponsor
an activity/event for Leisure Services
Host a
fundraiser for the Link Foundation
Small group
projects. Painting, landscaping, plumbing or other
"trades-type" support. If your group is more "socially"
inclined, you can do a variety of fun activities; an
afternoon of pizza and a movie, cookie baking, holiday
decorating or a day of shopping.
Individual
Volunteer. With over 800 consumers, Link Associates
programs offer options to volunteer at a consumers home,
with the day
program, or as part of a leisure activity. Opportunities
are available across the greater Des Moines metropolitan area.
